THE INTRO

We’re fucked. But hopefully not irreversibly. 

Since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution mankind has transformed themselves from an agrarian, family-based, moral society into the self-centered, technocratic anarchy that we have today. We have lost sight of the things in life that really matter and instead focus on wealth, power and how to get more with less.

Oh, I’m sure there are people out there who argue that the world is constantly becoming a much better place than it ever has been. The banners of scientific advancement, medical breakthroughs and new technologies in everything from combines to cell phones are their rallying points. They would argue that we can now provide instant, worldwide video communications, treat a plethora of diseases and infections, provide cheap global labor and feed an increasing population with less effort, resources and a smaller environmental impact. And the list goes on.

Now, I’m no Doom-and-Gloom-er or some wacked-out conspiracy theorist, but I do realize that there are two sides to every coin. And like Robert Kiyosaki of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” fame, I tend to stand the coin up on its edge so I can see both sides before forming my own educated opinion. That’s what this work is all about; finding a realistic way out of the increasing fucked-up-edness that we have created for ourselves and countless generations after us… If they survive the ever-worsening global situations that they will inherit.

In reality, I’m an optimist. I can forsee how we as a global society could possibly mend all of the broken bridges that we’ve left behind us and get ourselves back on track. But it’s not going to be easy; nothing good ever is. In a world where people have stopped reading books, but rather opt for YouTube videos or YouTube Shorts videos (for the extreme Attention Deficit Disorder crowd), I am writing this wake-up call in longhand, on lined notebook paper. Yes, call me old-fashioned, but I have a unique perspective and the distinct advantage of being able to see what’s going on from the outer periphery of society, just as a Monday morning armchair quarterback can call last night’s game with alarming accuracy.

Yes, I know that almost no one writes anything in longhand nowadays, just as I am aware that our esteemed public dis-education system doesn’t even teach cursive writing anymore in our elementary schools. In a way, that’s exactly my point. This subject is so important, so relevant and so needed, today more than ever, that I have issued the call. So maybe, just maybe, if I can overcome my personal hurdles, there will be a base of readers out there who will pick up the message and find that it connects with them on a higher level. And maybe, just maybe, this work will be the uniting force, like individual rain drops of a storm coming together with a common purpose and order to exact change and demonstrate sheer force of will and unimaginable power.

Within this work I will share my views and ideas about our current situation and how we can, and must, come together to create a better world than the cesspool of ignorant and materialistic automatons that our society has devolved into. You are more than welcome to continue reading if you are sick and tired of the same old, same old, but if not, you can just as easily point your phone towards YouTube, or TikTok and continue along with the flock. Baaaaa!
